i’m working on some ideas to update my kitchen and i keep coming back to these very peaceful, zen-like spaces. there’s just something so soothing about the thought of cooking in a space like these — bringing in fresh herbs and produce from my garden (food is growing out there!), putting on some chill music and cooking great meals. i like the very neutral look of these spaces and the first thing i’d like to do is replace my gray speckled granite countertops with some white carrera marble. i don’t even care if it stains or scratches a bit — that’s part of the personality of a kitchen if you ask me — a little lived-in and well-loved. but smooth cement is pretty cool looking, too. i love the look of pale gray paint (i have benjamin moore’s bunny gray in my kitchen) paired with brass fixtures. i have a nice white farmhouse sink that i love, so i changed out my polished brushed nickel faucet with a new brass one and changed out the cabinet fixtures with kohler brass pulls and knobs i found on amazon prime and it made a world of difference. little by little, i’m getting there and these spaces inspire me to carry on!
