as a former san franciscan, i take it a little personally that tartine bakery waited for my departure before opening its huge haven of freshly baked carbs, but it’s reason enough to return. tartine bakery is possibly the worlds greatest dough, and now they have an entire location in collaboration san francisco-based heath ceramics, dedicated to the craft — of minimalistic mugs, and bites that is. the interiors are, like any good loaf, crisp on the outside, yet warm and inviting on the inside. nestle in with a copy of ann patchett’s new page-turner commonwealth and ditch the diet for a sec.
